What is a Gas Safety Check (GSC)?

This is a series of safety checks carried out on the gas appliances that landlords provide for their tenants' use. The results are recorded in detail on a Landlord Gas Safety Record form, with copies provided to both the landlord and the tenant.

Why should I have one, and how often?

As a landlord you have a legal responsibility for the safety of your tenants. Your duties apply to a wide range of accommodation occupied under a lease, or licence.

This should be done every year, or more specifically, within 365 days of the previous one having been carried out.

Who should carry out a GSC?

Gas safety checks must be carried out by a suitably qualified Gas Safe Register registered engineer. Plumbingwerx's Gas Safe Register number is 624383.
